Today, we’re setting off on a journey to explore Jago Close and Chapel Road, two parallel streets located in the eastern part of Singapore. These streets are conveniently nestled just off East Coast Road, while strategically positioned near the Marine Parade MRT station, the Marine Parade HDB estate, and a plethora of popular dining spots such as Chin Mee Chin Confectionery and Merci Marcel, among others.

Now, let’s take a turn off East Coast Road into Jago Close. Right at the entrance, you’ll spot Mel’s Place, a welcoming restaurant that stands as a noteworthy landmark.
Directly across from Mel’s Place sits a traditional kopitiam. When I visited, the kopitiam was in a bit of a mess; it seemed unclear whether it was under construction or being demolished. Unfortunately, a quick search on Google Maps didn’t shed any light on its status.
Interestingly, the kopitiam is incredibly close to the homes along Jago Close—it’s literally just a few steps away.
