Alright, so here’s a thought—what’s with our weird obsession with big-shot corporate execs? Seriously, why do we talk like they’re geniuses, saints, or whatever? I scratch my head over this, ’cause half the time, it feels like they couldn’t care less.
Take this whole deal with the old power lines. Remember that one? Regulators were like, “Hey, let’s ditch these ancient relics before they torch the place,” but the utility guys, nah—they’re more like, “Nah, hang onto those, they might be useful. Maybe.” It’s like… sensible plans get tossed aside ’cause someone in a suit said so. Somehow, the people we trust to keep us safe end up nodding along. Spineless, right?
I can’t help but think—those execs will still pocket their hefty paychecks, bonuses, and who-knows-what-else even if things go south. Makes you wonder why we keep kidding ourselves that they care about anything beyond the dollar signs. When’s the average Joe gonna snap out of it?
Anyway, moving on… Larry down in Fountain Valley’s got a point too. Like, why should folks who go green with solar panels end up footing the bill for a company’s shortsightedness? Ever think maybe it’s time to hand the power stuff over to the public? Yeah, let’s put that one out there.
Oh, and then there’s the bit about helicopter chaos over in D.C. Helicopters buzzing about like we’re in some action flick. But what’s the thread here? Change gets pushed back, that’s what. Costs, reuse—whatever excuses they cook up, behind it all, safety seems shoved aside.
In the end, it’s just a mess of losses and blaming games. Go figure.
Anyway—wait, where was I? Oh right, just reflecting on how things go round and round. Lee Baresi from Riverside kicked off this whole train of thought, but it seemed worth a deeper dive. Guess I got lost in the weeds, but isn’t that how it always goes?
