## New Survey Finds Many Americans Stressed About Grocery Costs
So, there’s this fresh AP-NORC survey showing that lots of Americans are really feeling the pinch from rising grocery prices. Over half of those asked say that buying groceries is a big cause of stress for them.
A good chunk of folks also mentioned being worried about housing costs (47%), how much money they’ve saved or earned (43%), and healthcare expenses (42%) as major stressors. Interestingly, fewer people seemed troubled by childcare costs, student loans, and credit card debt, with under 30% calling these significant financial burdens. Even though President Trump had promised to cut grocery prices right from the start, every month since January has seen a price hike. In June, food prices were up 3% compared to last year.
“These sky-high grocery costs are squeezing Americans, especially seniors on fixed incomes,” said Joseph Peters, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of the Alliance. “It’s just not right. People should be able to afford the basics.”
